Role Summary/Purpose
As a member of the Global Research Organization and Ultrasound Research Team, partners with peers and leaders of the business & the China region (China CTO, U/S CTO, Product Development, Medical Directors, Academic Research, with Regulatory Affairs, Legal/Compliance, Clinical Research Associates, academic institutions, and GE Global Research) to direct and manage research towards helping GE and academic research collaborators meet mutual objectives.


Essential Responsibilities
• Establish close working relationships with the technology, medical, clinical, regulatory, legal, and marketing organizations focused on Ultrasound. • Execute the research roadmap associated with the research priorities established by the VP of Global Research and Ultrasound Global Research Manager. • Drive and manage research strategy for China. Manage Research Projects in close concert with external investigators and GE Clinical Research Organization (GCRO) in areas strategically important to Ultrasound including technology development, disease states and patient unmet clinical needs. The successful candidate will report directly to the Global Research Manager for the Ultrasound business supporting ultrasound strategy and research projects for GE Medical Systems (China) Co, Ltd and supporting the Ultrasound Segment Research Managers with research in China. This position includes a strong functional relationship to the Medical and Clinical Affairs team. This position does not have any sales or marketing responsibilities and must not engage in any sales or marketing activities. Essential Functions: •Evaluate, approve, drive and manage external research in accordance with the GE Healthcare Research Management Procedure and supporting/implementing guidance, serving as the primary contact for Research Strategy between GEHC and principal investigators • Own the research strategy roadmap for China. Work with product & research teams to establish long-term research roadmap, defining study requirements, and approving proposals and justifications • Partner with external investigators to develop research that results in important contributions to scientific and technological advancements • Partner with the GCRO and external investigators to ensure that required documentation is submitted to, and obtained from, regulatory authorities and Ethics Committees • For GE-Sponsored studies, assist with development of protocols, training plans, informed consent forms, and other research documents/forms/logs, as required • Collaborate with GCRO on tracking achievement of milestones, receipt of research deliverables, and approval of payments for research studies • In collaboration with investigators, marketing, medical affairs, engineering, and GE Global Research, translate patient needs through research partnerships into new technologies and clinical uses of ultrasound. • Develop and evaluate technical and clinical feasibility studies of advanced applications • Participate in the conduct of medical and clinical advisory boards • Provide scientific and clinical support to researchers and GE colleagues as needed


Qualifications/Requirements
•Bachelors in Clinical Research, Physics, Biology, Engineering or related field•At least 5 years of experience working in a clinical research role in Pharmcy or Medical Device•Excellent communication & interpersonal skills•Fluent English•Ability to influence locally and globally to ensure studies are performed appropriately•Experience in medical technology & applications•Ability to manage research budgets and resources to ensure timelines are met•Experience in working directly with academic researchers•Ability and willingness to travel globally up to 30%•GCP (Good Clinical Practice) training and experience in clinical trials research
