· POSITION OBJECTIVE

To provide customers and distributors technical application support for Tescom’s product families. Assist with specification of applicable Tescom products, analysis of customer needs from a system perspective, and testing of components and systems to verify performance to specification or application.

To promote the sales of Tescom products and services. Serve as a technical liaison between the customer and the company on sales/engineering issues regarding product applications, sales, installation and services. Review and evaluate customer needs, prepare specifications, and recommend design modifications. Responsible for minor modifications of existing industrial products for the purpose of extending product capability to new applications. To assist in evaluating performance and market suitability of new product designs and competitive products.


· MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Customer Support

· Product Application Support - Provides technical product application support for customers and distributors through the analysis of current and/or proposed control systems and the suitability of Tescom pressure control products for use in those systems. This would include particular expertise in the areas of hydraulic/pneumatic components and systems.
· Applications - Recommends Tescom products for unique or critical applications of product for conformance to customer specifications. Evaluates material chemical compatibility, corrosion resistance, and endurance constraints for use in customer applications. Recommends component changes, new materials, or test criteria when applicable.

2. Design Support

· Recommend Product Modification - Evaluates requests for product modification for the purpose of extending Tescom’s pressure control products to new applications or for the purpose of meeting a specific customer's existing needs. Reviews those product modification requests with Marketing and the Engineering department. Implements minor modifications upon approval of the appropriate engineer and product team.
· Conducts Evaluation Testing - Conducts evaluation testing on product designs to determine conformance to the product definition and customer needs. Works in conjunction with Design Engineering and Marketing. Assists in the development of new product ideas and appropriate specifications.

3. Training Support

· Conducts Field and Internal Seminars - Assists the Sales department in planning and conducting field and internal training sessions for Tescom products. Develops appropriate manuals and technical data including application notes for use by communications, field sales, distributors and customers. Attends trade shows and customer locations to provide technical application support. Assists in the training of Sales employees in the application and testing of our products.

4. Product Literature - Assists in the review and updating of current literature and development of new literature.

5. Continuing Education – Preserves professional and technical competence by pursuing related continuing education as required.

6. Apparent or Assigned - Performs related work as apparent or assigned.

· EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

· BS degree in an engineering or technical discipline -OR- two year engineering/technical degree with two years direct application and development experience with Tescom product.
· Demonstrated working knowledge with the application of control system hardware including valves, regulators, filters, pressure and flow measurement instrumentation, process controllers and PC's used in industrial applications, and hydraulic and pneumatic control system dynamics.
· Demonstrated ability to communicate (verbal/written) effectively with customers, suppliers and employees.
· Demonstrated ability to work in a cooperative and team oriented environment, as well as independently.
· Demonstrated proven effectiveness in working with people and solving problems.
· Minimum of five years hydraulic and pneumatic application experience.
