ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Global Sourcing Manager you are responsible for:
? Developing cost models and understanding cost drivers.
? Being the recognized expert for global market information; Long term supply/demand/capacity, price, market segments, other users of assigned commodities and competition, Short and long-term market trends, and Environmental and/or regulatory implications.
? Developing complex, global and comprehensive supplier/buyer contractual relationships.
? Developing negotiation strategies and drive negotiations to achieve stated goals and objectives.
? Developing and documenting negotiation and contracting process consistent with commodity strategy.
? Own communication for contract data and volumes across global teams, modalities and supply base as appropriate.
? Leverage supplier capabilities and business opportunities on a domestic and international basis.
? Primary owner for the supplier relationship. With technology partners, and in accordance with the commodity strategy, drive supplier selection, development and overall supplier management.
? Work with Strategic Technology Leaders and Supplier Quality Engineering to integrate the supplier performance requirements into all suppliers.
? Develop commodity specific performance criteria and award/remove business in accordance with results.
? Work with suppliers to drive improvement on all areas measured within the supplier scorecard.
? Drive global supply base consolidation analysis, planning and implementation.
? Responsible for resolution of purchase order discrepancies.
? Exhibit systems and metrics knowledge
? Understand the databases and systems and how to use effectively across global sourcing teams.
? Responsible for accuracy of data and issues related to the supply base performance metrics.
? Responsible for data integrity relative to supplier, commodity codes, part numbers, forecasting and all relevant metrics.
? Responsible for cost performance metric data integrity.
? Work with Engineering Team to document new part tracking process to ensure linkage in Worldwide Materials Information Systems.
? Responsible for working with Demand Planning Management to improve forecast accuracy to suppliers.
? Ensures the Corporate Contract File complies with audit procedures, including supplier correspondence, for supply base.
? Act as a mentor to employees in the group.
? Proactively share best practices across the Supply Base Management and lead cross-team efforts to leverage benefits for all business units.
SKILLS
? Strong technical/market expertise, lead the development and execution of long-term, global commodity strategies that deliver a competitive advantage to the business.
? Must demonstrate an understanding of the supply base as it maps to the global demand over the next 3+ years.
? Must identify gaps in direction vs. industry.
? Must provide recommendations to address gaps and include contingency plans and risk analysis.
? Encompass a sourcing plan (% share of business) reflective of portfolio management: Long-term agreements, annual contracts, spot buy, purchase contracts, etc.
? Drive for CONSOLIDATION of suppliers (including global consolidation plans and timelines).
? Drive for STANDARDIZATION where possible.
? Demonstrates "shop the world" mentality.
? Optimize the needs of the various market segments that serves and create maximum leverage
