POSITION SUMMARY
This position will be responsible for improving product costs quarter over quarter by managing cost reduction activities and RFQ's (Request For Quote) at contract manufacturers for assigned business units in the Communications Test and Measurement Division.
? Facilitate, review, and approve quarterly cost reviews with contract manufacturers to achieve cost reduction goals for the assigned business units.
? Track, analyze, and report on cost increases, cost reductions, and inventory revaluation at contract manufacturers by business units and product lines.
? Facilitate and manage competitive bidding from cradle to grave, gather sellable part lists, download document packages, review BOMs (bill of material) to resolve any inconsistencies, issue RFQs (request for quotation), ensure on time delivery of quotations, review and approve quotations from contract manufacturers.
? Develop, document, and improve processes related to cost reductions and RFQs with the goal to simplify and clarify working processes and improving productivity.
This position requires flexibility in partnering with a wide range of internal and external customers and managing a variety of strategic and tactical responsibilities. The ability to use independent judgment to provide solutions and accomplish goals is essential.
SKILLS Required
? Solid verbal and written proficiency in both English and Mandarin is required
? Experience in issuing RFP (request for quote) and reviewing quotes is required.
? Proven ability for process improvement and experience in documenting processes or work instructions is strongly desirable
? Oracle, PLM / Agile and BRIO reporting experience strongly desirable.
? Expertise in MS Office tools including Excel, Word, and Project is required.
DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS
? Ability to work remote and independently to achieve short and long term goals with minimum supervision a must.
? Strong interpersonal skills required to work well in demanding situations and interact with all levels of management and external customers. Demonstrated ability to lead projects and influence results.
? Good organizational, planning, analytical and presentation skills is strongly desirable
? Proactive in identifying areas for improvement at assigned position
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE (Minimum)
? BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience required.
? Minimum 5 years procurement experience is required, preferably in the contract manufacturing environment for PCBA (printed circuit boards) and box builds.
