Axis is looking for the right person to fill an open position as a Software Engineer within our newly established Research & Development (R&D) organization in Shanghai.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
As a Software Engineer you will take an active part in the development of our firmware used in our Network Video products. You will perform analysis, design, implementation and write unit- and functional tests of new functionality in the platform. Furthermore you will work with quality-enhancing activities such as debugging and bug fixing. The role will also include some customer interactions as the team is close to the market.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We believe you have a genuine and solid interest in programming and a Bachelor's or a Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent. You also have very good C-programming skills and experience from working in a Linux environment. Since you will work in an international environment it's necessary that you have good communication skills in English, both written and oral.
As a person we think you are a team player with good social skills. You are open minded, eager and willing to learn. You thrive to take responsibility and takes pride in delivering quality on time.
In addition to the above, experience from one or more of the following areas is considered a merit:
Embedded systems programming
Debugging
Script languages, e.g. Python
Developing for the open source community

The Axis R&D China Team is part of the global R&D organization with headquarter in Sweden. The Chinese team is the only R&D team outside Sweden and is focused on developing functionality and products for the local market but also working close with the sales and technical support teams to provide advanced engineering services. As a member of the team you will be part of all stages of development - from analysis of business cases to design, implementation, testing and delivery.
