Role Summary/Purpose

The Compliance Officer role contributes to the overall strategy and manages complex issues in the implementation of GE Aviation’s collaboration with key business partners in China. Integrates and develops processes that meet business needs across the organization. Involved in long-term planning.

Essential Responsibilities

-Responsible for ensuring International Trade Compliance (ITC) policies and procedures as well as other US and Chinese law compliance requirements are implemented across all key collaborative programs and overall. -Implement directives of JV Compliance Committee and works to identify and mitigate compliance risks in the JV. -Implement the JV compliance program. -Conduct official audits for compliance and oversee external compliance audits. -Report on a periodic basis to the senior leadership team and JV Board of Directors, as applicable. -Oversee compliance aspects of onboarding JV personnel. -Provide leadership, analysis, training, audit, and management of international trade law for leadership and cross-functional groups to assure compliance with Chinese, U.S. and other relevant regulations. Represent the JV in all official government issues/inquires relative to international trade compliance procedures, policies, and audits. -Review and monitor regulatory changes and recommend applicable process improvements relative to site programs. -Analyze JV technology, hardware, and software for consistent, proper and compliant export control interpretations, classification and license application. -Monitor and analyze regulatory changes and adjust practices and process accordingly. -Train personnel for compliance to business policies and government regulations.

Qualifications/Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college•At least 5 additional years of experience in international trade compliance, with at least 2 year focused on export compliance or technology transfer issues

•Knowledge of US export regulations particularly the Export Administration Regulations•Knowledge of Chinese international trade regulations•Fluent English and Chinese•Additional experience with a US or Chinese government agency working on international trade compliance issues
