Job Description:

Responsible for analysing the test basis, planning the test strategy, implementing, executing and reporting on test activities. This includes but is not limited to the following core areas:

· Proactively offer recommendations to address gaps in customer specifications

· Develop test plans to provide a quality test strategy, estimates & schedule to align with the project and business needs

· Use of appropriate test levels, test types and test techniques to provide a quality test approach

· Defect reporting – well written to ensure success in repeatability and understanding of the bug/issue

· Informative & factual test status and test summary reports, which include information regarding progress, findings and risks

· Ensure testing activities cover requirements within PSVR (Compliance Matrix)

· Use specialised testing knowledge and skills to ensure product integrity thus making every effort to ensure the product is fit for purpose, rather than just meets requirements, within the given constraints

· Maintain positive relationships with internal customers on a day to day basis

· Facilitate a positive and professional customer relationship, building trust, confidence and respect

· Initiate discussion with the customer to clarify needs and gain agreement re key design and delivery issues

· Identify gaps in customer specifications and escalate/refer to project team

· Project hours captured in accordance with company requirements

· Adhere to the teams/business processes, templates and storage of test artifacts

· Adhere to HSE systems and take reasonable care not to expose themselves, others or the environment to unnecessary risk

· Report/Remove any workplace hazards that may arise in our work environment

· Reference the HSE policy located on the Clipsal Intranet

· Risk assessments for test equipment

· Contribute ideas for improvement and assist in their implementation

· Assist in the generation and maintenance of test documentation and process as required

· Take an active role in staying abreast specialist testing knowledge

Requirements:

· Tertiary Education in a software related discipline

· Experience in Software Testing – preferably with experience in firmware & systems testing

· Familiarity with the installation and utilization of the Clipsal product range or other lighting automation systems would be desirable.

· Experience and knowledge of test levels, test types, testing techniques. Networking skills. Strong communication skills, both oral and written, ability to communicate with a variety of teams and levels.
