职位描述

Title: R&D Manager
report to: Technical Center Senior Manager
Subordinates:2 supervisors

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITES
This section describes the elements of the role and the authority for determining a course of action Both operational and strategic responsibilities should be stated as well as the degree of direct authority the position exercises over human, financial and physical resources. Please also include an overview of the most attractive and the most challenging aspects of the role.

DEPARTMENT’S TOP3 OBJECTIVES:
1.Leading formula development, documentation, brand maintenance, and global roll-outs of alternate Multi-benefit toothpaste platforms.
2.Conduct formula design and optimization, evaluation of new actives, consumer validation, clinical testing, and Tech Transfer for new product launches.
3.Fundamental understanding of component interactions between formula ingredients, and establishment of scientific rationale
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Developing and executing plan to deliver new and/or improved global product bundles/launches of Multi-benefit toothpastes, including low cost approaches
2.Coordination with internal partners for prototype formula evaluation, scale up and validation (Regulatory, Safety, TSCI, ER, Clinical Group, Analytical, Micro, Supply Chain)
3.Claim substantiation (coordination with Knowledge Management, Legal and Marketing)
4.Fundamental understanding of component interactions between formula ingredients, and establishment of scientific rationale
5.Partner with marketing and manufacturing teams to build and deliver launch timelines?
6.Maintain documentation such as notebooks, necessary SOP's, claims dossiers, and Bundle books to support Global Regulatory registration and audits.
1.Integrate into product development activities all the Global Quality requirements for product design

LEADERSHIP/SUPERVISION:Will supervise two scientists

EXPECTED PERCENTAGE OF TRAVEL:Yes,10% of the Time

Budgetary Responsibility:
KEY DELIVERABLES IN THE FIRST 3/6/12 MONTHS:
3Months: Become expert in toothpaste formula design and optimization, evaluation of new actives, consumer validation, clinical testing, and Tech Transfer for new product launches
6 Months: Will start to drive the development of new new formula approaches
12 Months: Fully functional in developing and executing plan to deliver new and/or improved global product bundles/launches of Multi-benefit toothpastes, including low cost approaches

EDUCATION AND FUCTIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
This section identifies the formal education and experience required to successfully perform the role.It should be clear what requirements are essential versus preferred.
Preferred(Asset): Doctorate Degree-MAJOR: Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
Required: Master’s Degree-MAJOR: Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.

EXPERIENCE:
1-3 for a Ph.D Candidate--Years of Consumer Goods Industry Experience Required
3-6 for a MS candidate--Years of Consumer Goods Industry Experience Required


PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:Good oral and written communication skills in English

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
SKILLS:
?1-3 years of fundamental research and formulation experience, and experience in ingredient interactions in liquid/solid formulas
?0-2 years experience interacting effectively with Marketing
?Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, search engines to conduct patent and literature searches
?Good knowledge of Statistics and Design of Experiments techniques
?Basic Knowledge of Regulatory and Safety requirements in consumer products
?Organization, multitasking and analytical skills, time management
?Excellent oral and written communication skills
?Must be able to manage independently research programs and effectively utilize both internal and external resources to achieve project objectives

The ideal candidate should possess advanced knowledge of Physical Chemistry, Surfactant/Colloid Chemistry and Polymer Chemistry.. Additionally, basic knowledge of Biological sciences and Analytical sciences is preferred but not required..
