The Senior EHS Engineer will be responsible for the establishing and implementing of MXA safety standards/programs/projects at the site, reporting to EHS Manager. He/She is required to develop strategies to ensure compliance with applicable local laws and compliance with Micron EHS policies/standards and RBA requirements. He/She is required to collaborate effectively with intra- and inter-department teams including global EHS teams in order to support the achievement of Micron’s strategic objectives and EHS KPIs. He/She is also be responsible to collaborate with outside governmental authorities and other interested parties.

 

Responsibilities and Tasks 

 

Job Description:

• Develop, implement and maintain programs to ensure site operation compliance with applicable laws, regulations, licenses, permits and ordinances pertaining to Occupational Health & Safety.
• Lead, plan and implement programs to support and achieve site safety KPIs and strategy objectives.
• Lead site ISO14001/ISO45001 certification efforts and maintain continuous compliance against EHSMS standards, as well as continual improvement.
• Adapt and implement Micron corporate EHS programs/projects at Xi’an site.
• Lead team on fire protection management to ensure fire safety compliance.
• Establish and maintain Contractor EHS Management and Management of Change program.
• Develop/deploy Fatality Prevention programs within site such as Fall Protection, Electrical Safety, Confined Space, etc. to build Incident & Injury free workplace (Live Safe) for both Team Members and Contractors.
• Plan and execute regular site EHS management system and compliance audit, and report non-conformance, track CAPAs for all EHS related NCs and ensure they are closed effectively.
• Write technical reports based on the interpretation of EHS data, observations, and current regulations regarding inspection findings and recommend corrective actions.
• Bring EHS professionalism to the organization in Occupational Health & Safety and drive organization towards best EHS practices.

 

Supervisor and Management Responsibilities:

• Develop and build an effective team under her/him
• Continuously build up team’s technical competencies through knowledge sharing and industry benchmarking regarding fire safety
• Motivate team to perform to the highest potential

 

Education

Bachelor’s Degree and above major in:

Safety Engineering, Chemistry or other Engineering related…

 

Qualifications

• Fully understands and has experience with Occupational Health & Safety management systems and regulations
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications
• With IRCA ISO14001 and ISO 45001 Leader auditor is preferred.
• Fluent in both oral and written English languages
• Good presentation skills
• 5+ years EHS work experience
