Role Summary/Purpose

This position supports the development and delivery of technical proposals and technical clarification & negotiation for new gasification licensing projects, assists in process design / reviews and technical liaison with customers/design institutes during project execution, works as part of a team to provide start-up engineering services for newly constructed gasification facilities.

Essential Responsibilities

- Work closely with the sales, commercial, and leadership teams from initial opportunity identification through order conversion and participate in creating the business strategy by providing critical technical input. - Support the development of technical proposals which deliver JV licensed technologies in a configuration which matches customer expressed needs, and which conform to requirements in the customers bidding documents. - Support technical and commercial negotiations on an as-needed basis. - Participate in technical reviews of ongoing projects and handle the technical liaison with customers and local design institutes during project execution. - Participate as part of a start-up engineering team to support customers’ in bringing their new gasification system online, and perform specific tasks as part of the field technical service. - Visit and interact with established licensees to troubleshoot technical issues, and secure feedback on ongoing operation for long-term customer support quality.

Qualifications/Requirements

- BS degree or above in Chemical Engineering or related science. - Ability to perform engineering analysis and design, and to develop engineering solutions in a team environment, and to provide technical consulting services to customers. - Strong technical and analytical skills - Strong written and oral communication skills - Fluent in written and oral English and Chinese - Passion for working in an open, sharing, and supportive environment where colleagues welcome opportunities to assist each other with solving challenging technical problems - Willingness to travel

Desired Characteristics

- 5-7 years experience working in a China Chemical Design Institute with specific focus on gasification and/or coal-to-chemicals project engineering - 3-5 years experience working for a developer of one or more coal-to-chemicals projects in China. - Minimum of 3 years gasification experience or 5 years’ experience in one or more areas of gasification /coal chemical/petrochemical and/or IGCC design or projects.
