Role Summary/Purpose

The Engineering Technical Leader will demonstrate project management leadership in communicating business goals, executing projects, and processes for avionics Hardware Systems. In this role, you will be responsible for work that is less defined in scope, utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute project objectives and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals. In this role, you will:

Essential Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership for a team of engineers for all product design aspects of the assigned avionics hardware system or sub-system Demonstrate competency in using standard project management tools, project plan creation and execution Estimate budgets and track costs of projects, and is accountable for meeting project budget and schedule targets Track and Manage project earned value and manpower forecasting Assure all avionics hardware designs meet customer requirements Develop hardware project management plans and statement-of-work / documentation requirements - including those for external Suppliers where appropriate Tailor process and limit scope on project to provide the most cost effective solution to internal and external customers Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers to ensure that project requirements are understood and being achieved Support and coordinate with interfacing organizations such as engineering finance, manufacturing, sourcing, services, and Systems COE and PECOE engineering Provide strong guidance and contribution to manufacturing planning and design to cost objectives Communicate progress to all levels of the organization Mentor and develop less experienced personnel Demonstrate responsibility for building a team for development of avionics products and sub-systems for commercial aircraft Be responsible for building a team of knowledgeable avionic hardware subject matter experts which will develop avionics products and sub-systems to customer requirements Be responsible for a Hardware IPDT that is responsible for the full avionic product lifecycle, including the definition of requirements, the modeling and simulation of the design, hardware electronic and mechanical design, design allocation and support to suppliers, documentation, build, test, integration, qualification / verification and airworthiness certification Regularly interface with customers, partners, suppliers, and senior leadership within the company

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science or Bachelor's Degree in ProjectManagement from an accredited College or UniversityMinimum of 5 years of avionic hardware design, build and test experienceMinimum of 5 years of technical and/or project leadership experience in an avionic product development leadership position
