An excellent career opportunity is currently available for a Technical Sales Engineer for Olefin & Detergent products within the UOP's Catalysts Adsorbents & Specialties (CA&S) Refining & Petrochemicals business located in Des Plaines, IL. This position plays a key role in supporting the CA&S sales process for Olefin technologies, with a primary focus on Olefins area.  The role is to support catalyst and adsorbent reload efforts globally which will require regular interaction with UOP's external customers and with UOP personnel, particularly CA&S Sales, R&D and the sales support team.

    


    

This position reports to technology Sales Support manager of Catalyst, Adsorbent & Specialties (CA&S) Olefins, and leads CA&S Olefins technology sales support activities in the responsible territories of China, This role will be located in China and focus on Chinese customer

Fixed Accountabilities:  

    

  • Sales Support
  • Participate in customer discussions for incumbent and "take-away" reload projects to provide technical sales support and develop an understanding of the customer's needs and expectations in order to meet or exceed customer requirements and increase satisfaction.
  • Support specific sales events or sales initiatives by providing input on strategy (blue sheet), coordinating yield estimates, generating technical proposals with an emphasis on technical & business case(s), preparing and/or delivering sales support presentations. 
  • Develop project implementation plans for key reload project sales to ensure a smooth transition from sales phase to the reload/restart phase
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the catalyst & adsorbent capabilities including our value propositions for the UOP Catalyst, Adsorbents & Specialties business unit, concentrating on the assigned area of expertise, and becoming recognized internally and externally as a technology expert.
  • Participate in post-mortem project analysis on key wins and losses in their respective area to ascertain reasons for winning and losing and make recommendations to improve future sales efforts.
  • Marketing
  • Working in conjunction with the Global Catalyst Sales Support Manager, develop and maintain tools and sales collateral (including presentations, template proposals, value propositions, spreadsheets, etc.) to be used by CA&S sales and sales support personnel to facilitate productive sales pursuits.
  • Collect customer intelligence on market trends and competitor strategies and products. Provides information to Global Catalyst Sales Support Manager and Product Line Manager for subsequent analysis and feedback to the Product Line Operating Team.
  • Participate in voice of the customer exercises to obtain feedback on our quality, development and sales process. Identifies customer and market needs and translates them into product requirements that steer R&D programs for new product development.
  • New Product Commercialization
  • Working in conjunction with the Global Catalyst Sales Support Manager and Product Line Manager, support launching of new products through identification of target customers, development of business case for specific opportunities (including yield estimates), coordination of commercial trials and direct customer meeting support.
  • Operating Unit Support
  • Interact with UOP's Technical Service organization to interpret commercial data and obtain customer feedback in support of catalyst reload sales.. 
  • Reviews service call reports and sales call reports for customers to stay on top of customer activities, needs, and issues. Use above information to look for future Sales opportunities and ensure customer satisfaction.

·         与全球催化剂销售支持经理合作,开发和维护工具和销售抵押品(包括演示文稿、模板建议、价值主张、电子表格等),供CA&S销售和销售支持人员使用,以促进高效的销售追求。

    

·         收集有关市场趋势、竞争对手策略和产品的客户情报。为全球催化剂销售支持经理和产品线经理提供信息,以便后续分析并反馈给产品线运营团队。

    

·         o参与客户的声音练习,以获得对我们的质量、开发和销售过程的反馈。识别客户和市场需求,并将其转化为产品需求,指导新产品开发的研发计划。

Basic Qualifications: 

    

  • Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a Sales, Sales Support, Technical Service, Engineering or Process Operations role within the refining, petrochemicals or gas processing industries is required.
  • Experience with Oleflex process technology is desired.
