Position:                     R&D Technician

Location:                    Zhangjiang, Shanghai, China

Team:                          Lab Operation Team

Responsibility:

• As lab Operation team member, will support all the related lab routine works, like HSE/5S/TPM/Inventory/Procurement work;

• Support all the lab operation work but mainly focus on FIP business--Aerosol and Solvents, Personal Care and Foam;

• Support engineers/customers on testing and evaluation work, support project works.
• Conduct routine and non-routine laboratory procedures with general supervision required for the preparation and evaluation of various blowing agents/polyurethanes based materials and related evaluations.
• Manage proactively sample preparation and testing.
• PU/PIR foam performance testing with a variety of blowing agents and blowing agent blends
• Conduct all necessary calculations and record experimental data in a laboratory notebook and summarize the experimental results for his / her direct supervisor.
• Prepare reports summarizing lab evaluations, including drawing conclusions from the data generated in these evaluations.
• Continue to expand work field, prepare to transfer to other project based on project request/adjust;

• Maintain lab safety and 5S, in time close all HSE related findings / activities;
• Support RD Engineer to manage related chemicals, include from New chemical application to storage management and waste treatment;
• Support RD Engineer / project team to do the related procurement work;
• Ensure the lab equipment in good condition through TPM;

Experiences:

• 2 years plus in a technical laboratory/testing laboratory environment;
• Prefer experiences in rigid polyurethane and polyisocyanurate foam preparation and performance evaluation

·         Basic knowledge of polyurethane and polyisocyanurate formulation technology is preferred.

·         Has R&D lab experience- has knowledge about chemical management/lab related equipment maintenance, and HSE & 5S as well.

Education:
College or Bachelor or above, in Science in Chemistry or Material Science or equivalent

Non-Technical Competencies:

·          A strong driver to focus on deliverables with sense of urgency.

·          Basic English reading / writing/oral is required.

·         Conceptual thinking - to identify patterns or connections between situations.
Teamwork spirit / Self-motivated

·         A working knowledge of standard PC operations (word, excel and powerpoint).
