Essential Responsibilities

Responsibilities are presented for gradient coil design. • Electromagnetic design and analysis of magnet and gradient coils • Test support for final assembly and functional test of magnet and gradient coils • Root cause analysis for magnet or gradient coil and related MRI functional test failures • Support for quality and/or reliability efforts • Follow-up support for magnet and gradient coil installation productivity or failures at hospital site • Preparation/presentation of design and analysis reports on magnet and gradient coils and interaction with global magnet team • Develop product, component test and purchase specifications for magnet and gradient coils • Coordinate cross-functional design, analysis and testing. • Support manufacturing lean initiatives • Provide creative solutions to unstructured product design issues from both factory and field.


Qualifications/Requirements

• MS Physics, EE or related field• Experience 3 years minimum• Ability to analyze and design complex products:- Electromagnetic design and analysis of magnet and gradient coils- Electromagnetic analysis of interactions between gradient coil and magnet- Root cause analysis of magnet and gradient coil defects and/or image quality defects due to magnet and gradient coils• Flexibility in handling challenging, multi-tasking workload• Ability to work with cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams• Fluent verbal and written English language communication skills


Desired Characteristics

• PhD in Physics, EE or related field• Five+ years experience with magnet and gradient coil design and manufacture• Experience developing magnet and gradient coil design and/or analysis software• Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools such as Vector Fields, Ansoft, or ANSYS• EMC compatible design/solution experience• Circuit design and simulation tool experience• Experience in numerical analysis tools and optimization methods. • Leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.• Capability to generate innovative concepts• Knowledge of UL/ETL/IEC standards and how they apply to designs• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification.
