China Seeds Development Pipeline and Project Portfolio Manager

The China Seeds Development Pipeline and Project Portfolio Manager will ensure coordination among China Seeds Development functions to enable reliable and efficient operations in delivering the China Seeds Development pipeline and programs.

• Support the China Seeds Development project and program management, demand planning, and logistics  
• Track and monitor program performance using standardized metrics and other indicators that provide project/program transparency

Responsibilities:

• Manage efficient seeds product delivery programs/projects
• Ensure coherence of data in appropriate reporting tools (for project planning, functional resource demand, budget reporting etc.)
• In coordination with the Breeding, genetics and trait project leaders, populate project planning tool with seeds development demand and project task detail
• Support the Seeds Development Operation Lead in project portfolio management and reporting accordingly (i.e. research reviews and pipeline tracking reporting)
• Promote program/project management culture and standards in China Seeds Development. Drive project management standardization and efficiency
• Co-develop and implement new processes to promote pipeline and portfolio transparency: including metrics/KPIs, stage plan, business cases and other initiatives
• Support development of program review metrics/KPIs and implementation of information capture
• Monitor and calculate program indicators to measure performance.
• Working with breeding leads, provide framework for measuring genetic gain and ensuring that relevant data are collected and analyzed for review purposes
• Working with the China Seeds Development Leadership Team to Establish a robust tracking and reporting mechanism to monitor China Seeds; Development project progress in a timely and efficient manner; Metrics reporting on Seeds Development projects and strategic initiatives

Critical Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Solid knowledge of plant biology, plant breeding process & technologies
• Good understanding of agribusiness
• A strong knowledge of project management, database system and logistics support system
• Good communication and people skills
• Good communication skills, written oral and presentation
• Cooperative approach,  work effectively in functional matrix
