Role Summary/Purpose

In this role you are responsible for defining requirements for the Test equipment labs (hardware and software). Responsibility also includes integration and validation of the design of test equipment. Additionally, you will work with lab technicians and support staff to keep the labs and test benches in a working state for the end user to be able to use the lab resources efficiently. Key services provided include lab resource scheduling, end-user training, asset tracking and safety rulings.

Essential Responsibilities

In this role, you will: Define technical concepts and top level implementation solutions for the Test Lab and the Test tools and simulations Develop Simulation requirements including modeling of aircraft, avionics, autopilots, and auto throttles Develop System Integration Lab requirements Lead integration effort when the Simulation and Product HW come together Close interaction with customers to drive requirements and customer satisfaction Participate actively in requirements and design reviews Work closely with other engineering teams, partners and vendors to ensure inter-operability and reuse Participate in the proposal process to insure that only sound technical solutions are offered to customers Be responsible for the overall configuration of test stations and lab equipment Work closely with technicians and other lab support staff for maintaining the lab and keeping it functional for the end users Develop training and enforcing rules for end-users who will access and use the lab Perform asset management of the lab hardware and software using effective tracking mechanism Provide services to end users for setting up user accounts, creating custom configurations and maintaining electronic and paper-logs of activities Ensure that the lab is in a ready state for engineering end-user testing and verification activity, by coordinating calibration of equipment, scheduling of the lab benches, controlling configuration of product hardware and software (unit under tests) as well as controlling the test equipment hardware and software Develop procedures and work instructions for enforcing safety and regulatory conformities in the lab Drive end user and customer satisfaction for the lab users and promote collaboration with other lab support staff including the lab technicians

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering Minimum of 5 years of working experience in an Engineering organization Minimum of 2 years of prior experience in a systems engineer role ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time The position may require access to controlled technology. To abide by Export Compliance regulations candidates must have either US Citizenship or US Permanent Resident Alien Status
