Role Summary/Purpose

Essential Responsibilities

The Application Engineer develops practical and innovative ways to identify and meet goals. In this role you will be responsible for work that is less defined in scope, utilize your understanding and experience to execute business objectives, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals. • Contribute to multiple project teams to perform sophisticated technical analysis of systems • Lead and work effectively with cross-functional teams for design, test and implementation activities • Provide evaluation of design changes affecting performance and reliability • Assist in the formulation of plans, budgets and schedules for specific programs • Recommend design improvements and advanced design concepts to maintain product leadership • Conduct design reviews, support and train less experienced engineers • Assure that maximum use of outside technical resources is factored into the design process as appropriate • Prepare proposals and work plans based on customer needs • Compile results of technical analysis to produce detailed, concise, analytical reports • Enhance industry knowledge and present technical content in regional forums • Document and present project findings and deliverables • Contribute to general systems engineering activities including studies, internal product and service support, sales and marketing functions • Actively participate in a working environment where teamwork, quality, customer service and innovation are highly value • Provide product development and technical support to GE product businesses as required

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above from an accredited university or college • At least 3 additional years of experience in a chemical engineering or sales engineering role • ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Willingness and ability to travel 50% of the time

Desired Characteristics

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Chemical Engineering is preferred • Ability to perform engineering analysis and design, and to develop engineering solutions in a team environment, and to provide technical consulting services to customers • Ability to lead project teams conducting technical analysis • Ability to mentor less experienced engineers • Strong technical and analytical skills • Prior experience in preparation of technical proposals is preferred • Strong customer mindset • Strong oral and written English and Chinese communication skills • Solid interpersonal and leadership skills
