What are my responsibilities?
The TSM is a key role within the sales organization with responsibility for identifying, filtering, developing, tendering, negotiating and closing deals for the supply of wind turbines and O&M services within his designated Market/Customer base.
The TSM is the ultimate owner of each project opportunity from identification of the lead until handover to the project execution team upon reaching contractual Notice to Proceed.
The TSM takes a leadership role in managing and motivating the multi-functional team assembled to pursue each project sales opportunity (cross departmental team-selling approach). He will act as the key contact point towards the Customer and also be the main focal point within the organization in relation to his pipeline of opportunities.
While driving sales efforts towards Customers he will equally focus on keeping the organization informed regarding ongoing activities, driving internal activities related to his projects and securing internal buy-in for the sales opportunities presented.
The TSM is measured on order intake volume, market share %, order forecast accuracy, profitability, customer satisfaction, hit-rate (efficient use of resources) and pipeline development.
More in detail, assignments will cover:
- Maintain and develop relationships with Customers at all levels;
- Proactively pursue business opportunities and sales leads in a systematic, structured manner;
- Present the company’s technology, products and offerings to Customers in a competent and professional manner;
- Kick-off, manage and coordinate internal efforts leading to preparation and submission of world-- class technical and commercial offer packages;
- Define the sales and pricing strategy. Elaborate an optimized technical & commercial approach for each project opportunity;
- Summarize and present opportunities to upper management in a concise, effective and convincing way in order to secure necessary approvals before submitting offers;
- Lead contract negotiations through to close-up with support from a multidisciplinary team;
- Collect, analyze and communicate market intelligence, competitive information and utilize such knowledge to define the appropriate strategy and approach to secure orders;
- Assess risks and opportunities related to each sales project and effectively communicate them to the project execution team upon handover;
- Report project and pipeline status on regular basis to ensure accurate forecasting.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
- You have demonstrated 5-- 7 years of experience in sales of complex, high CAPEX projects in the renewable, infrastructure or power generation sector;
- Ideally you are already experienced in wind power and have a good understanding of the fundamentals of the business and the technology;
- You are a “hunter” and you are a deal closer. Your experience demonstrates you have the ability and determination to handle pressure and overcome external and internal hurdles in order to secure the deal;
- You are able to focus on complex commercial & technical details while never losing track of the bigger picture;
- You have a good understanding of renewable/infrastructure project economics (IRR, NPV, LCOE);
- You have extensive experience negotiating contracts;
- You have working experience in multilingual and multicultural teams;
- Willing to travel on regular basis (30%-50%) and work in a global environment;
