Overall Purpose of Job

？ The commodity buyer is part of the Purchasing Department. The prime role is to responsible for procurement and strategic sourcing of assigned commodities, materials or services necessary to support for the TRW Asia Pacific business, in accordance with published Global Indirect Purchasing Procedures to support corporate initiatives.

Major Responsibilities

？ Responsible for sourcing and supplier management for Tools commodity including cutting tools, fixture, gauges and measurement machines and molds.
？ Work on assigned commodities code, to drive regional strategies and actions to achieve budget, cost reduction and GCS target
？ Lead commodity RFQ (request for quotation) or bidding project
？ Coordinate and benchmark best practices and suppliers. Initiates and evaluates quotations necessary to determine the most cost effective sources available.
？ Recommend cost savings proposal including make versus buy analysis, alternate sourcing and vendor evaluation criteria
？ Manage supply base including creation or renewal of contracts, purchase orders or agreements. Conduct supplier assessments for potential new suppliers.
？ Maintain the regional approved supplier list as part of the global strategy
？ Monitor supplier performance.
？ Maintain all records and documentation, of requests for quotation purchase order initiation, cost reduction reporting and all other daily transactions in accordance with established TRW Automotive policies and procedures.
？ Interface with TRW Law Department regarding terms and conditions of major purchases.
？ Support Regional manager and Global Commodity Manager on reporting
？ Undertake individual assignments depending on management needs and individual’s.

Education & Work Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Business, Engineering or related field.

Language: Fluent Chinese with a strong ability to communicate in English.


Experience:
? Minimum of 5 years purchasing, project management, or engineering experience desired, automotive preferred.
? Knowledge and experience with Indirect (MRO) material (international and specific) purchasing preferred.
? Cutting tools, fixture purchasing experience preferred.
