Purpose:
Identify local sources, provide input to Global Commodity Team for the strategic sourcing function of an assigned commodity across Viking Pump and execute strategy locally to achieve lowest total costs, effective asset management, continuous quality improvement, on time delivery, improved cycle time, and early supplier involvement in product development. This role will be based in Suzhou, China.

Principle Accountabilities:

? Drive a Viking level strategy for assigned commodities that address performance improvement for:
o Payables
o Supply base optimization
o Cycle time reduction
o Process optimization
o Productivity
? Promote early supplier involvement on new product developments. Drive preferred suppliers and parts in all NPD program
? Conduct supplier evaluation - risk, quality, price
? Conduct competitive bid process / RFQ's
? Manage pricing that meets target costs on new parts and annual AOP goals.
? Drive performance for on-time to Request (OTTR) performance to divisional goals.
? Complete quotation packages
? Negotiate the final supplier contract.
? Oversee and manage "zero" impact transitions to new suppliers.
? Assure commodity strategies are linked across all Viking Pump global sites.
? Identify opportunities for increasing supplier consolidations, and productivity savings.
? Ensure trade compliance issues are addressed
? Support supplier audits if necessary

Education:

Equivalent to undergraduate degree required. Equivalent to graduate degree desired. Technical education desired.

Skills / Knowledge:

1. Multinational company sourcing experience.
2. Proven experience in supply chain management.
3. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities
4. Ability to work with and manage influencing all levels of leadership.
5. Verbal and written fluency in English and Chinese.
6. Successful use of decision-making and analytical skills


Measures of Success

1. Meet or exceed AOP savings goal.
2. Meet or exceed Viking OTTR, payables, Lead time and quality goals.
3. Productivity/year over year savings goals achieved.
4. 100% of spend on contract/LTA with assigned supply base
5. Meet or exceed supply base reduction.


Detailed Activities and Tasks:

? Understand the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for the commodity supply base spend and savings for the year.
? Generally understand the Viking products, factory locations and major supplier base.
? Know and understand major markets in emerging regions for assigned commodity area.
? Conduct analysis to determine new supply base opportunities to present to sourcing leaders, team members and factory leaders.
? Conduct negotiations with suppliers.
? Write and manage Viking level contracts with new suppliers.
? Utilize IDEX established electronic and web based systems to find, establish and manage new suppliers.
? Work with supplier quality, NPD, CE/VE and design engineers to qualify and manage suppliers.
? Work with Global Commodity team to transfer from a supplier in a high cost region to a supplier in a low cost region.
