Role Summary/Purpose

Essential Responsibilities

Work in a global and multi-disciplinary team, develop highly reliable control system, provide direction and assistance to work group in order to meet assigned objectives. You will be responsible for: • Participant in and guide colleagues through the design, analysis, or evaluation of new product developments using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements • Drive the design and development of new BOP's (blow out preventers) electrical and electronic safety control systems • Select components, address component obsolescence, perform failure analysis, assist with project controls systems and identify improvements for the Mux BOP Control System • Provide leadership to support Mux BOP Control System design and work closely with the Electrical Projects, Electrical Products, Software and Testing Team Leaders • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments to Engineering Managers and Product Line Leaders • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or above in EE, or related • Minimum of 6 years of experience in electrical design and development (SBC, PCB, Control Panels, PLC, etc.) • Experience in circuit board design and failure analysis • Familiarity with control system and components • Experience in a technical leading role • Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems • Good team player, ability to work across disciplines, organizations • Proved capability on planning and execution, finish tasks within schedule and budget • 'Can do'attitude, embrace challenge with enthusiasm • Quick learner, self-starter • Solid oral and written communication skills • Good written and oral English skills

Desired Characteristics

• Familiarity with OrCad • Knowledge of Oil and Gas applications, such as LNG, pipeline compression, gas re-injection, subsea is preferred • Six Sigma training preferred (GE Employees Only)
