job_description_responsibilities:
Take a significant role in both localization and R&D projects about heat treating processes and equipment.
Provide the strong technical supports to Caterpillar’s facilities of R&D, production, purchasing, distribution and suppliers on all kinds of heat treating processes and equipment.
Perform supplier audit and assessment on heat treating processes and equipment.
Provide strong supports on PPAP and APQP of heat treated parts and components.
Provide strong technical supports to internal metallurgical labs about heat treated parts/components.
Perform failure analysis and trouble-shooting for heat treated parts and components.
Required Qualifications:
University bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Materials Science & Technology, Metallurgy, Materials Processing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
8-year and above working experience on heat treating processes and equipment within manufacturing industries. Have experience at nitriding, induction hardening, carburizing, quenching and tempering. Working experience on engine components is preferred.
Have at least 1-year working experience at a metallurgical lab. Be very familiar with metallurgical inspection including sample preparation, microstructure, hardness, chemical compositions, mechanical properties and so on.
Have at least 3-year experience on project management about heat treated parts/components. Working experience on heat treating workshop management is a plus.
Be very familiar with relevant quality tools (QAP, APQP, PPAP, root cause analysis, etc.)
Be familiar with supplier development and management.
Good communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Good English language skills

Frequent travel as required
