job_description_responsibilities:

Take a significant role in both localization and R&D projects about forging parts/components.

· Perform forging supplier assessment and audit.

· Perform forging component validation to ensure Caterpillar’s requirement is met.

· Support to solve forging technical issues for both Caterpillar’s facilities and suppliers.

· Provide strong technical supports to internal metallurgical labs about forging parts/components.

· Analyze forging process gap, and identify and execute opportunities to enhance performance and quality.

· Perform forging part failure analysis and drive corrective actions.

· Provide forging technical training to Caterpillar facilities and suppliers.

· Participate in the projects related to forging parts/components.


Required Qualifications:

· University bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Materials Science & Technology, Materials Processing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
· 8-year and above of working experience in steel forging processes in manufacturing industries. Experience in forging die design and press machine is a plus.

· Experience in heat treating processes on forging parts is also a plus.
· Have at least 1-year working experience at a metallurgical lab. Be very familiar with metallurgical inspection on iron and steel forging parts.
· Have at least 3-year experience on project management about forging parts/components.
· Be very familiar with relevant quality tools (QAP, APQP, PPAP, root cause analysis, etc.)
· Be familiar with supplier development and management.
· Good communication skills and interpersonal skills.
· Good English language skills
· Computer skills
· Personal integrity and confidence
· Good conflict management skills
· Focus on solutions
· Frequent travel as required
