Job description
The design reviewer is responsible for the design review of all new products and major product modifications, you are an independent person from the project team, plays a key-role in the “(new) product development process” as outlined in the Atlas Copco “Concept to Product process”.
You will report to Wuxi Oil-free Engineering manager.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Design Preview: discuss with the project team what will be checked in the FP and PP phase, based on the Project Master Specification
2. FP Design Review: verification if the functional prototype (FP) design concept can fulfill the requirements in the Project Master Specification; discuss corrective actions needed. The review involves the evaluation of reports of functional/component tests or calculations, design FMEA, VK estimation based on the FP BOM, design comments by service, marketing, production, calculations of life time estimations, design check on legal requirements and others. The FP Design Review Report must be presented to the PCM as one of the deliverables necessary for gate-closure of the FP phase.
3. PP Design Review: verification if the “final product” (production prototype) fulfils the requirements stated in the Project Master Specification; discuss corrective actions needed. The PP Design Review involves the evaluation of released PP drawings, BOMs and engineering instructions, the identification of components or functions subject to conclusive testing, released PP BOM generator (product grouping), final safety review, frozen content of the instruction book, test reports of the PP units, VK calculation based on the PP BOM, process FMEA, final PP lab reports or calculations, preliminary Technical Specification Sheets (TSS), confirmation of timely availability of the required approvals, design approval by service, marketing, production, sourcing, signed application approvals, design of the internal manufacturing and logistic process and others. The PP Design Review Report must be presented to the PCM as one of the deliverables necessary for gate-closure of the PP phase.
4. Review of product maintenance actions by reviewing each DN before it is released; apply design review for the major modifications.
5. Continuous cooperation and interaction with Airpower Oil-free engineering design review function.

Experience requirements
Several years of experience with the Atlas Copco “new product development processes”
Knowledge
1. Strong technical background.
2. Mandarin mother tongue and good knowledge of English both oral and writing.
3. Knowledge of MS Office. Experience with Lotus Notes, CAD tools and MRP system is an asset.

Educational requirements
Bachelor or Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Personality requirements
You have a strong personality with the ability to communicate in a very assertive and professional way.
You are strong team player, analytical mind with high technical affinity, customer oriented and quality minded.
