The key role of this position is to use analysis and simulation process to validate the design concept as well as improve the designs in terms of reliability, durability and performance of the Caterpillar engine products.
The major responsibilities will be included but not limited to the items as below:
Work closely with the design engineers, machine integration engineers, validation engineers, manufacturing engineers, global team and Corporate SME to complete the assignments.
Focus on engine core component analysis include but not limited to – Engine Thermal mechanical fatigue analysis, Engine block and Head analysis, Engine crankshaft and bearing analysis, bolted joint analysis.
Also responsible for archiving the analysis and simulation model and results.
The analyst may also support other FEA structure analysis as needed.

Qualification Required:
Min. MS degree in Internal combustion engine engineering; Vehicle Engineering, Mechanical Engineering in Internal combustion Engine direction.
Must have fundamental FEA / Simulation knowledge.
Must have solid knowledge on Engine core components.
Must have fundamental knowledge on Thermal mechanical behavior, heat transfer.
Excellent problem solving skill
Good English skill in reading, listening, writing and speaking
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Strong initiative, teamwork skills



DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

FEA / Simulation project experience in Engine core component is a plus.
Engine dynamics / Torsional Vibration simulation experience is also a plus.
Deep understanding on Fatigue theory is a plus.
Understanding heavy machine industry structure and functions is a plus
Capable of CAE tool. Analysis software experience in ABAQUS and Nastran is preferred; however, experience in other equivalent engineering analysis software is acceptable.
