1.It shall be the responsibility of the Operations Manager to ensure that the Assistant
Operations Manager understands this Job Description and that he leads the department in
continuous improvement in the areas identified herein.
2. It shall be the responsibility of the Assistant Operations Manager to direct and coordinate
his department's efforts in the achievement of continuous improvement in the areas
3. Recruit and maintain a high-caliber staff appropriate to business circumstances.
4. Build and maintain an excellent farm club of differing maturities and career track timing.
5.Develop, motivate and challenge all team members to perform to their full potential,providing direct and timely feedback in formal and informal media.
6.Prepare periodic performance reviews of all direct reports. Recommend salary increases and changes in job status as appropriate.
7.Create a decentralized operation that is organized along project lines
8.Encourage employees to maintain an in-depth field of experience and knowledge regarding emerging electronic, manufacturing and materials management technologies. Ensure that Jabil is an industry leader in developing/adapting effective advanced systems and methods.
9.Create an environment that is culturally embedded in a "Quality First" mentality.
10.Work with all levels of the organization to improve quality levels (goal: Zero Defect product). Utilize the LAN SPC System in this effort. Drive to conclusion all action items escalated to the Operations Manager's level.
11.Ensure that all levels of the organization are focused on providing the customer with the
highest level of service and support.
12. Ensure a cost-effective operation by monitoring manufacturing efficiencies, scrap rates,work in process volumes, equipment and materials strategies and staffing levels. Quickly implement corrective actions when necessary.
13.Strive to provide the customer with 100% on-time delivery.
14.Ensure effective management of all materials and plant property.
15.Provide meaningful guidance and nurture the growth of excellence in middle
management.
16.Create a sense of pride that ensures a world-class facility in terms of appearance.
17.Ensure that staff members administer all policies fairly and consistently, while
remaining flexible in accommodating deviations according to each individual circumstance.
18. Maintain positive employee relations by encouraging direct and indirect employees to
take advantage of our open door policy, suggestion box, participation in status and team
meetings, and interactive one-on-one communication.
19.Foster a feeling of identity and loyalty within each production team. Celebrate
accomplishments; communicate calmly but clearly areas that need improvement. Instill a
continuous improvement mentality in all facets of the organization.
20.Review all relevant policies and procedures (as initiated and revised) with direct
reports, instructing them regarding the specific application to their assignments. Ensure
each individual’s comprehension, as well as his or her ongoing support and compliance.
21.Foster good morale, a proactive and positive culture, and maximize the opportunity for
personal growth at all levels of the organization.
22.Ensure that Jabil conducts itself as a responsible member of the community.
23. Provide and maintain a safe work environment for all employees and visitors.
24.Empower all Jabil personnel and coach them to champion and take ownership of their
efforts as related to their individual assignments.
25. Participate in plant forecasting process and drive the plant operation to strive towards operation excellence.
