Sandvik in Wuxi is seeking for an EHS and Lean Manager

Sandvik Hyperion is a world-leading company in the development and production of synthetic diamond and Cubic Boron Nitride products for such industrial applications as machining, oil and gas drilling, grinding, rock drilling and wire drawing. The head office and largest production unit is located in Worthington, Ohio in the US; another unit is in Florida. The company has a strong global presence, with sales equally distributed between the Americas, Europe and Asia. We are a division of 150 year old global industrial group Sandvik.

The position would directly report to Site Manager, below please refer to the job description:

Key performance areas:

·Lead the performance of site EHS targets and objectives in support of corporate, regional and business group EHS strategic initiatives designed to drive the Sandvik "Safety First" culture.

·Organize, develop, implement, and oversee pro-active programs, systems, policies, and training.

·Partner with manufacturing personnel to develop, evaluate, improve and document methods and processes keeping in mind Sandvik policies and local country perspectives.

·Develop new approaches to solve problems identified during activities in the production unit.

·Keep Site informed of significant issues or developments identified during activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.

·Responsible for promoting Sandvik values, diversity & inclusion.

·Coordinate audits, internal audit and management review of EHS to ensure the EHS system valid and sufficient, and is executed strictly.

·Coordinate external audit of EHS and get certificate according to business development needs

Your profile:

·Bachelor’s degree or above with major in Environmental Engineering or Engineering

·Minimum 5 years' experience in Lean management and EHS background

·Six sigma green / black belt certified and/or Lean Manufacturing experience.

·Experience in driving improvement initiatives, ability to integrate and work well in a team environment

·Preferably can show a background with a clear Environmental, Health and Safety profile.

·Experience in Lean Manufacturing techniques and proven results.

·Experience from a global environment and matrix organization is desirable.

·Knowledge of quality processes and procedures

·Education on university level preferably within Engineering, Ergonomics or Biology. EHS Certification or training is highly desirable

·Relevant leadership training

·Fluent English

·Strong customer focus , business sense, and open mind

·Strong communication and negotiation skills. Ability to interact with stakeholders

·Familiar with EHS regulations and laws. Familiar with, ISO14001& OHSAS18001

As a person you are proactive, self-motivated and one with lot of initiative, courage and integrity and a business minded, result oriented attitude. You also have strong communication skills and can work in an English environment.
