Job description:

1. Conduct diagnoses to investigate and resolve issues onsite or remotely
2. Attempt to resolve issues at the earliest possible stage within capabilities, despite which ‘level of support’ should resolve it
3. Take ownership of incidents and requests from time of allocation through to resolution
4. Maintain complete records of data, such as communication transactions, installations, issues and remedial action taken;
5. Build, Update and deploy PCs/Servers within standard operating environment, modifying / customising commercial programs if required
6. Install and perform repairs to hardware, software and peripheral equipment
7. Identify incident trends, referring major hardware of software problems or defective products to the Service Desk where appropriate
8. Generate pragmatic networking and systems recommendations for solution improvements
9. Monitor, maintain and administer IT Infrastructure
10. Follow process for change and incident management and documentation maintenance.
11. Implement a framework for the standardisation of service level agreements
12. Ensure flexibility and adaptability and prioritise business requirements according to impact
13. Assist in business problem solving and solution/ technology identification
14. Escalate and monitor incidents and requests to other relevant IT groups to ensure timely resolution according to SLAs.
15. Other works assigned by manager

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in information technology or related

Experience

5 years or above relevant experience, preferred in manufacturing environment

Sufficient experience in a Desktop Supporting Role

Proven customer service orientation

Skills & Knowledge

Detailed knowledge of:

1. Microsoft Windows 7
2. Microsoft Office 2010
3. Image and Application deployment using Microsoft SCCM
4. Hardware Troubleshooting

Working knowledge of:

1. Microsoft Windows Server 2008
2. Backup technology and processes
3. LAN/WAN/Wireless Technology
4. Systems and Network Security

Preferable:

1. Experience in CAD/CAM Application Support
2. Awareness of current technology and advances in the field of IT
