Description: Sales Engineer

Sales Engineer Job Purpose: Helps the business development process and serves customers by identifying customer needs; translating these into requirements and showing how the product and potential adaptations of products will address those needs. This includes written support, verbal communications, contributing to the development and delivery of sales presentations as well as the development and delivery of product demonstrations. The position also includes the liason between internal technology personnel and the proposal process and may include customer installation and support functions, as necessary.
Sales Engineer Job Duties:
? Identifies current and future customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potentials and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements. Provide product, service, or equipment technical and engineering information through proactive presentations, training, answering questions and responding to customer technical requests.
? Aids the business development process to establish new accounts and services by identifying potential customers; planning and organizing sales calls.
? Prepares cost estimates by studying customer requirements and matching company capabilities to those requirements whether with existing products or custom development services; consulting with engineers, technical personnel and other professionals as required, inside and outside the company.
? Supports economic analysis for the customer proposals to help demonstrate the justification for the projects. Determines improvements by analyzing cost-benefit ratios of equipment, supplies, or service applications in customer environment; engineering or proposing changes in equipment, processes, or use of materials or services.
? Gains customer acceptance by explaining or demonstrating benefits, cost reductions and operational improvements.
? Makes sure all proposals and orders are technically feasible and correctly configured for the customer requirements by conferring with technical support staff and engineering staff.
? Develops customer's staff by providing technical information and training.
? Prepares sales engineering reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information and engineering and application trends.
? Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
? Contributes to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives.
? Supports general technical, demonstration, and presentation development as required.
? Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Skills/Qualifications:
? Bachelor degree or above with majored in computer or relatives.
? Minimum of 5 years successful field sales experience with enterprise class IT deployment technologies and issues, direct familiarity with Cloud Computing and Virtualization is a strong plus.
? Candidate must be able to demonstrate: their strong problem solving skills; ability to assimilate complicated product knowledge; selling skills; public presentation skills; a broad understanding of software requirements; product development experience; modest general programming skills; working knowledge of Linux and Windows based servers; familiarity with general networking technology; familiarity with requirements analysis; and working knowledge of project economic justification techniques.
? Candidate must possess a professional image and have excellent English written, verbal and presentation skills.
? Ability to travel 75% of working schedule.
