Description: Business Development Manager
Business Development Manager Job Purpose: Builds market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships. These may include:
1. Project development with provincial, municipal, ministry, development zones, or industrial partners.
2. Direct sales of products and services to enterprise class customers, and
3. Identification of potential partnering opportunities.
Business Development Manager Job Duties:
? Identifies and tracks Cloud Computing trends and ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements; tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments.
? Locates and proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities.
? Develops direct government relationships to aid in the business development process.
? Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, economic potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments.
? Develops negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of any new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners' needs and goals.
? Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.
? Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
? Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
? Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
? Provides strategic input to corporate management and directs technical support to develop world class proposals and presentations.
? Proven ability to work with a high powered team to achieve world class results.
? Works best as part of a team.
Skills/Qualifications: Must have sufficient depth of Cloud/DC/IT technical knowledge, excellent strategic thought and vision, superior communications skills in written and verbal form, a strong demonstrated capability to manage complex business deals from inception to close in the shortest possible time, a willingness to dig in and prospect for leads, a systematic sales process, attention to detail, experience in China, a unique ability to map customer needs and company capabilities, high energy level, outgoing social skills, professional appearance and demeanor, a proven ability to meet sales goals. Market Knowledge is a strong plus.
