This position is primarily responsible for leading the day to day product management activities on a particular product programme. Product Management itself is the coordination and management of the interfaces between the different disciplines that are required to take a product programme through concept, design, development, procurement, manufacture, marketing, selling and servicing to achieve an agreed set of objectives. In particular, this person:

? Ensures operational support is available to resolve Customer Quality, Process or Cost concerns is in place.
? Actively participates in and directs problem solving activities ensuring product issues, from containment through definition and validation of final solution, are resolved.
? Manages the NPI process for the product and the discrete customer introduction programmes associated with this, by coordinating interdepartmental activities and interfacing with and providing feedback reports to the Business Unit Directors/General Managers NPI committee on a timely basis.
? Actively participates in the recently created Heritage Product Deletion team, or any other projects as requested.
? Leads the day to day product management activities on particular programmes.
? Manages the NPI process for product deletion by coordinating interdepartmental activities and interfacing with and providing feedback reports to the Business Unit Directors/General Managers NPI committee on a timely basis.
? Directly contributes to profitability by minimizing costs and maximizing pricing and sales opportunities.

The position manages the completion of its own work assignments and coordinates work with others.

Typical internal customers include a Department or Business/Service Unit in a Division. The position is challenged to carefully evaluate problems and review a large number of possible solutions before selecting one option. Problems may be complex and can require the incumbent to develop solutions. The incumbent is free to determine the best way to complete job assignments in order to achieve desired results. Work is reviewed after completion, except in the most complex or high impact situations. Impacts key quality goals including Customer Satisfaction, Continuous Improvement, Timeliness, Accuracy, Efficiency, Cost Savings, Process Quality etc

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:
This position requires at least HND level qualifications along with up to 5 years of product management type experience. This is essential in order to gain a sound company/product knowledge and to gain a good grounding in the technical understanding of engineering principles and processes. Commercial experience supporting a major manufacturer is desired. Strong leadership and communication skills are a must in order for relationship building. The incumbent must also be a team layer and possess excellent organizational and project management skills.
