Sandvik in Wuxi is seeking for a Production Manager

SANDVIK HARD MATERIALS , a part of Sandvik Venture, supplies a wide range of Cemented Carbide solutions for different customer challenges. Our experience is based on engineered components, rotary tool blanks and wear parts products; together with a proven knowledge on the industries of steel, beverage can, aerospace, automotive, hygienic products and general engineering.

The position would directly report to Site Manager.


Key performance areas:
●Production Processes
Management of the day to day operations in production. Assure that production plans are fulfilled. Production manager is responsible for optimization of capacity and for defining the capacity for planning and investment purposes.
Initiate continuous improvement programs aimed at improving productivity, lead times, quality, delivery security, leading to better customer service and reduced production costs.
●Cost Efficiency
To drive and follow up on cost efficiency with support from logistics, quality and process development functions.
●Health & Safety & Environment
Production manager is responsible for the Health and Safety and for improvement of Health and Safety within the shop floor.
●Personal Management
Assure productive and flexible manning of the production teams. Continuously develop individuals and team performance. Identify and carry out training. Handle and resolve HR and IR issues in conjunction with HR and manager, referring them upwards when necessary. Strive to increase motivation by involvement to reach business targets.
●Economy
Manage own cost centers in order to assure that costs are effectively controlled. To oversee and to suggest improvements on spend related to production processes. Develop budgets and forecasts when requested.
●Communication
Ensure effective two-way communication between management and employees are maintained, and that issues are anticipated and responses shaped effectively.

Your profile:
●Bachelor's degree, major in technical or equipment education is desirable.
●Minimum of 5 years of production experience. Extensive knowledge and experience of engineering and manufacturing and all manufacturing support functions
●Good leadership, ability to lead a team and people management skills.
●Job holder must be able to communicate verbally and in writing within all levels of the Sandvik organization therefore mastery of English in essential.

As a person you are proactive, self-motivated and one with lot of initiative, courage and integrity and a business minded, result oriented attitude. You also have strong communication skills and can work in an English environment.
