Suppleir Collaboration Engineer-CRDC-WUXI-1200075N
As a Suppleir Collaboration Engineer at Caterpillar, you will be accountable for worldwide supplier development. You will provide technical, logistics and cost management expertise to the commodity teams.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
* Provide leadership in supplier assessment and development. Assure that all supplier processes are in place or being developed to meet the commodity / product sourcing plans. Insure certification criteria (CAT, ISO or others) are in place.
* Evaluate supplier technical, logistics, purchasing, manufacturing, sourcing and organization capability.
* Suggest improvement in several of the above field. Intensively work with supplier management to implement suggested changes.
* Capable of giving training to the supplier staff in several fields of supplier development.
* Maintain thorough knowledge of technological developments and trends to help advancements in design, quality, and manufacturing. The commodity being handled often involves very specific process knowledge.
* Resolve major technical problems involving purchased material. This requires in-depth knowledge of supplier processes.
* The results of the incumbent’s work are significant improvement in customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, timeliness, accuracy, cost saving, quality and certification.
* The position requires significant amount of travel at least one full week / month.
Required Qualifications:
* Strong knowledge in several of the following: material control, purchasing, manufacturing operations, traffic; and very thorough knowledge in at least one of these
* Engineering degree or university degree or equivalent experience
* 3 to 5 years of job related experience
* Good human relation skills are required to develop a cooperative work relationship with supplier management and inside Caterpillar
* Good command in English and another European language
