Position Summary:
Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production capabilities, assembly methods and quality control standards for the production of industrial seals and accessories. Contact with outside contractors or vendors when needed and obtain the optimum in tools, parts, and service for the best cost. Effectively communicates with engineering manager regarding the general direction of departmental operations and department projects to assure internal/external customer satisfaction.


Scope/Supervision and Interaction:
Reports to Engineering manager, interacts with QA, Production, Accounting, Planning, external suppliers and customers, etc.


Job Responsibility:
· Plans, schedules, assign and supervise work of design molds and tooling. Working with process engineers to modify the mold after testing. Coach, train, and direct personnel to obtain optimum output & results.
· Based on design specifications from customer needs and application, design new products and fixture, use FEA to analyze the design when necessary.
· Provide correct data in time as per the project management workflow, report project status timely.
· Tooling investment evaluation and cost estimation during tooling feasibility study stage.
· Define tool material, tooling design from suppliers, approve final tooling design solutions, and follow tooling qualification and status according to project timeline.
· Check the tool modification application and make relative change if necessary to meet product specification after trial run.
· Setup BOM & Routing of new parts in JDE system; analyze the cost of the parts.
· Based on design specifications, assess and confirm tooling suppliers' capability to meet quality requirements in order to ensure the supply quality.
· Periodically review product configuration and production, work out quality improvement and cost reduction solution.
· Prepare and provide tooling data in order to ensure the completeness of tooling related records.
· Prepares documents and presents results to internal and external customers. Determines required actions, performs or directs completion of tasks, and publishes findings and/or results.


Qualifications:
· Bachelor degree in industrial or mechanical engineering or above degree;
· Minimum 5 years engineering experience, minimum 3 years of product design or tooling design;
· Good knowledge of material performance of PTFE, PU, Rubber, Plastics;
· Proficient in AutoCAD and UG, FEA, Cost analysis;
· Experienced with Lean, good knowledge of ISO9000, TS16949(APQP), JDE;
· Good knowledge of CNC, CNC programming;
· Capability to provide solution/suggestion for new cutting-tool;
· Strong computer skills required to efficiently utilize MS Office and Lotus Notes;
· Good command of English understanding both in writing and speaking;
