职位描述

Areas of responsibility
The production manager is responsible for the following activities.
? To develop an efficient and skilled team organization with a clear assignment of responsibilities and duties.
? Together with the MD and the production supervisors to set up measurable objectives for his/her own organization and for the area of responsibility, and to follow up that the objectives are reached. The budget plays a central part here.
? To take part in the team reviews and make sure that necessary corrective action is taken on the basis of sufficient analyses and expert knowledge.
? To establish, to maintain and to continuously improve the total quality assurance of the production area in accordance with the policy, routines and quality manual of KA.
? To analyze future production requirements and to propose necessary action.
? To ensure the long-term survival of the production area through a demonstrated effort to develop the qualifications of the staff as well as to acquire productive and flexible production equipment.
? To observe public law, directives, provisions and concessions with regard to i.a. health, environment and safety, and to follow agreements made with external and internal parties.
? To carry through the group’s strategy for the production of gearshift systems and external plastic products.
? To ensure the optimum use of all production resources.

Personal tasks
The personal tasks of the production manager consist of, but are not limited to, the following activities.
? To participate in the preparation of quotations, as well as in negotiations and other contacts with customers.
? To participate when selecting suppliers and negotiating with them.
? To represent the production department inside and outside the company as agreed upon.
? To evaluate future production requirements and to carry through projects.
? To prepare staff agreements for white collar employees in his/her own organization..
? To participate in the management group of KA China
? To ensure the observance of the quality system through
- a clearly defined assignment of responsibilities and duties towards other managers.
- a regular review of the quality system.
- the handling of system non-conformities and other matters put forward by the quality
manager.
- the implementation of continuous improvements in the whole area of responsibility.
? Actively to report to the MD following normal reporting routines but also to report events and situations for which no reporting routines exist.
? To ensure that corporate health and environment policies are implemented.

Main challenges
The most important challenge of the unit is to be a competitive actor among international competitors. The most important challenges of the production manager are thus the following ones.
? To put forward proposals for strategical amendments connected with competence, organization, products, plants and equipment which will safeguard the competitive position of the unit.
? To achieve an optimum use of all production resources.
? To carry through reengineering projects.

Important external contacts
? Customers: Support of the sales and logistics departments in quality matters, personal contacts.
? Suppliers: Negotiations, choice of supplier, quality matters, personal contacts.


Competence profile (ideal)
? Education: Master degree, a minimum of five years’ experience in industry.

? Experiences and skills: Leadership in production-oriented companies.
Competence in and experience of production, quality, purchasing, marketing and/or product/process development. A high degree of personal integrity and confidence. Ability to make quick decisions based on a combination of experience and analysis as well as advice from other people.

? Special requirements:
Ability to produce good written reports.
Have a good command of spoken and written English.
