Responsibility:

Learning to start machine to allow it to go through its start up/warm up procedure.
Learning the machine control panels as needed.
Learning to select, align, and secure chuck jaws, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machine.
Learning to set up and operate machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
Obtains and places work piece in machine and removes finished work piece from machine and places it in appropriate temporary storage location.
Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications.
Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media or replaces tools as required.
Does machine cleaning and minor maintenance and calls supervisor as needed for major maintenance and repair.
Confers with supervisor or department head to resolve machining problems.
Is aware of and helps maintain a safe work area and conditions and makes the safety coordinator aware of any unsafe situations.
. Job requirement:

High School diploma or GED equivalent
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and blue prints.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to communicate effectively one to one and before groups of employees of organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to manage and work with people in a harmonious way to accomplish the tasks assigned to this job.
Ability to arrange for regular and reliable attendance.
