POSITION OVERVIEW:
The QC Inspector will travel to our contracted manufacturers, located in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, to inspect products and ensure specifications are met prior to shipping.

The inspector will also responsible for working with factory sales representatives, QA/QC, quality engineers, and production personnel to book inspections, identify QC issue, perform root-cause analysis, problem-solving and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) follow-up.

This team member is an independent self-starter with an innate attention to detail and the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Constant communication with multiple manufacturers in China and our Canada head office is required and the desired applicant should have a good command of spoken and written English.

You must be willing to travel daily and flexible to work on the weekend. Individual who has valid China Drivers Licence and their own vehicle is definitely an asset.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product Quality Inspection
  • Pre-launch and New product inspection – interact with Product Development team, QC team and factories to qualify the initial production of new products.
  • Pre-shipment inspection - perform the quality inspection when all products have been finished and packed, before shipment. Determining shipment disposition, and prepare rework instruction as necessary.
Loading Inspection
  • Perform inspection on the finished goods that have been loaded in the container at the shipping dock.
Has authority to reject and put the entire production batch of products on-hold without shipping if critical and major defects are found during the inspection.

Process Audit/Factory Audit
  • Conduct regular Factory Audit and Process Audits at the factories to drive cultural change throughout the organization to continually improve quality, production efficiency, reduce scrap and rework, and reduce customer complaints.
    Inspection reports
  • Completed inspection reports and regular updates are submitted to the QC manager in a timely manner.
  • Inspection reports are clearly written and presented with visual aids.
    Samples submission to 3rd party testing laboratories
  • Collect and arrange test samples from the factories to the 3rd party lab for testing according to the test plan.
    Engineering Change implementation
  • Ensure the approved Engineering Change item has been implemented per the committed completion date.
  • Other roles and duties of QC Inspector to be assigned by the Production and Quality Control Manager.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university. Major in engineerings such as industrial, manufacturing or mechanical engineering is preferred.
  • Training received for Quality Inspection and Auditing.
  • At least 5 years of related experience as Quality Inspector or auditor is required, preferably in a multinational company and/or 3rd party inspection firm.
    Experiences in stamping, welding and powder coating processes.
    Depth knowledge of ISO9001 or TS16494 requirements and Lean Manufacturing.
    Demonstrated ability to conduct root causes analysis using various problem-solving techniques.
            Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
