Promotes the awareness of customer requirements in the organization
- Collaborate with Sales and customers’ quality and engineering personnel to determine critical part features and review manufacturability of existing designs.
- Assures presence of CTQ data of customer requirements.
- Communicates product performance analyses.
- Advocating as the "voice of the customer" demanding the highest quality expectations from the Production team.
Develops/plans/reviews/leads/implements quality improvement projects as part of X+3/X+1 exercise.
- Recommend and implement enhancements to the quality system that result in improved corporate quality performance, increased customer satisfaction, and/or simplification of processes to reduce costs.
- Make recommendations to modify customer part specifications and tolerances as necessary to support cost effective production.
- Partners and assists Engineering with new equipment and processes with installation and qualification procedures/
- Interview and select quality/process consultants as necessary to assist in developing and executing action plans for continuous process improvements.
Participates to (customer) visits/audits and responds to (customer) questions in consultation with internal departments.
- Ensures readiness for all internal and external quality audits.
- Oversee the controlled document system, to include a final review of all changes to procedures, work instructions, forms, and other associated documents to ensure quality certification requirements are met.
- Audits the use of documents and operating procedures.
Lead activities in resolving (customer) product quality issues
- Coordinate with Sales, Purchasing and Production to resolve customer complaints and - Analyses failure mode and root cause of customer complaints;
- Facilitate and promote use of appropriate problem solving techniques for effective root cause analysis and successful corrective action.
- Drives implementation of corrective actions;
- Ensures maintenance of Control Plans and FMEA's throughout the life of the part.
- Determines effectiveness of corrective actions;
- Leads PPM improvement plans for strategic customers.
Supports R&D in the (re-)intro-duction of new or modified products
- Participates in customization and R&D Projects, with focus to the innovation of the production and process capabilities with respect to the product quality.
- Participates in the Advanced Product Quality Planning activities to determine appropriate use of existing and new measurement systems during new product design and startup.
- Develop and submit PPAP documents for new product launches to meet customer requirements.
Supports Purchasing in monitoring supplier quality performance, executing audits, setting up and evaluating the Service Level Agreements.
- Collaborate with Purchasing and suppliers’ quality and engineering personnel to resolve quality issues, tolerancing, and materials related issues.
- Resolve quality issues by examining solution options, reviewing action plans, and auditing the effectiveness.
- Effectively communicate and reinforce commitment to quality improvement efforts of suppliers.
- Provides support to Purchasing ensuring consistent application of quality techniques.
