RESPONSIBILITIES / AUTHORITIES
The Sales Manager is responsible for the sales volume, turnover, profitability, continuity of business and service of Bekaert Textiles China. The responsibility may be geographical (e.g. a country or a province), or account based (such as customers belonging to the same owner).
Main responsibilities:
1.elaborate and fulfill the sales budget in terms for volume, turnover and profitability within the defined geographical area/customer portfolio
2.evaluate regularly product and customer related key performance indicators, analyze and communicate divergences
3.attend direct customers for promotion, marketing, sales and after sales services (see appendix for more details)
4.collect and report data about customer potential, product portfolios, share of company and competition of the defined geographical area/customer portfolio
5.agree prices, delivery and payment conditions with customers
6.follow up outstanding receivables in cooperation with Accounting and Customer Service
7.build up and maintain customer relation
8.define and follow up action plans and targets with local agents/partners

FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
A.Knowledge
1.An economical training that corresponds with the university qualification of Applied Economic Sciences or of equal merit through education/experience
2.A thorough knowledge of the BTCN operations in all their aspects
3.A thorough knowledge of textiles in general and of the BTCN product assortment in particular
4.A thorough knowledge of the Bekaert procedures in relation to sales and marketing
5.Being able to use the AS/400 system and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
6.Experience in managing agents and work through sales agents

B.Social skills/communication
i.Authority
-Has hierarchical authority over a group of sales agents.
-Has technical authority to represent Bekaert's interests vis-à-vis the BTCN organization and vis-à-vis their customers
ii.Expression/Language skills
-Ensures a fluent communication, both written and spoken.
-A good knowledge of English is mandatory.
-Knowledge of languages spoken in is a great bonus.
iii.Communication/Contact
-Have the required social skills to make new contacts in order to build up business relations with customers
-Have the required capabilities for a fluent cooperation / communication with the organization of BTCN, as well as other members of the Bekaert Group
C.Specific skills/Requirements
i.Physical and psychical facility of movement
A normal physical condition (in view of traveling with heavy sample material) is needed.
ii.Attentiveness/Accuracy
-Attentiveness and accuracy are highly required, both in the organization and the management of the BTCN organization as in the sales process itself
iii.Special requirements
-Ability to distinct colors
-A presentable appearance is indispensable for commercial contacts
