Position: Product Engineer

General Function:

The Product Engineer is responsible for sustaining engineering projects on core safety products. Additional responsibilities may include CAD services support and Application Engineering support. The product engineer must have exhaustive knowledge of safety product subassemblies and global automotive safety standards. The individual must be able to apply academic engineering knowledge and analytical analysis skills to complex technical situations. APQP best practices must be applied to each project to ensure consistent product performance and quality. Product engineers must have strong skills in teamwork and communication in order to provide cross-functional support for technical supplier audits, quality problem analysis, tooling feasibility analysis, etc. Product Engineers will work closely with senior engineers and application engineers on global projects, requiring strong English verbal and listening comprehension skills.

Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering

· Minimum 5 years of experience in related engineering position

· Experience in APQP, FMEA, and statistical analysis practices

· Solidworks 3D modeling experience

· Knowledge of metal stamping and plastic injection molding technology

· Strong ability to communicate in English

Desired Characteristics:

General Skills and Abilities:

· Small mechanism design knowledge desired

· Enterprise PDM (EPDM) or equivalent experience desired

· Experience with standard electrical and pneumatic hand tools for product research tasks

· Willing to work from Wuxi, China facility

· Able to contribute overtime as required to complete projects in a timely manner

· Strong command of Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

· Physical demands and work hazards are negligible
