Main objectives:
- You will apply a systematic product development approach to translate customer needs into product functions and designs, including prototype realization and validation testing. You are motivated to solve mechanical design challenges, resulting into innovative products, and have the ability to think out of the box in the field of product development.Within Driveline we have determined seven key product lines.
- To rationalise the number of components that have similar functional characteristics sharing and communicating knowledge within the product teams across the regions.
- Participate in the regional groups of the Business Area working to key performance indicators that deliver the strategic targets set by the Centre Region Manager, Business Area Director / Vice President.
- Drive for innovations working within the company processes of POI, NPI, & PIP.
-To Liase with customers at all stages of the design engineer process
-To ensure successful designs

Competence profile (ideal):
- You have an academic degree in a technical discipline, preferable Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics.
- Proven track record in product development of mechanical systems and electrical systems, inside the Automotive or Truck industry, preferably in Driveline products.
- You are a self-motivated pro-active team worker.
- You have an innovative and creative mindset with excellent technical skills.
- You have experience with CATIA V5, and / or Unigrapahics.
- You have excellent communication skills and a good command of the English language.
- You have a minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience.

Special requirements:
- Deep knowledge of automotive product design and development methodologies.
- Ability to produce good written reports, and relevant presentations.
- Have a good command of spoken and written language within the region employed and English.
-Experience of plastic moulding and design of components.
-Experience of FMEA, tolerance studies, basic force calculations, design for manufacture.

Success criteria (KPI):
- To lower Cost Budget.
- To pass programs’ gates on time.
- To maximize number of inventions and patent applications.
- To ensure adequate use of corporate visual management tools (Kanban boards, K-briefs…).
- To minimize number of design hours after tools kick off (GATE 4).
- To maximize value of products’ contribution margin.
