Job Description:

1. This individual will work for Caterpillar Transmission Team providing technical and manufacturing support for transmission part localization and sourcing in China.

2. The successful candidate will lead and assist with supplier development for the casting, forging and machining of transmission components such as gear, shaft, and case/cover etc.

3. The incumbent will need to define tooling requirements, review tooling design and procurement, procure capital, and develop manufacturing process with project team members.

4. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating development and validation activities for manufacturing process changes and improvements.

5. The incumbent will need to demonstrate strong customer focus by staying current with Transmission Team and supplier needs as well as new manufacturing and assembly processes/methods.

Required Qualifications:

1. This position requires a minimum of B.S. in Engineering or equivalent. A minimum of 5 years experience in manufacturing with good knowledge of machining is required.

2. Candidates are required to have a proven track record of project leadership, project completion, strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication, and teamwork.

3. Candidates are required to be able to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing process issues.

4. Candidates with the ability to develop and implement detailed project plans are desired.

5. Candidates with the ability to develop and institute cost improvement programs are desired.

6. Candidates are required to be able to apply engineering and quality principles in support of manufacturing. The ability to read, interpret, and utilize engineering drawings and electronic data for product and process development is required. Experience working in a regulated environment is a strong plus.

7. Candidates with knowledge of process validations, process mapping, and process excellence is a definite plus. This position requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to perform effectively in a team environment. This position will be based in Wuxi/China. This position will require minimum travel of 80%.

8. With 8 years experience plus, English skills can be relaxed.
