Job Description:
This Person is responsible for Supply Chain Rationalization (SCR) cost management for 311-385 Excavator components and assemblies.
Key areas of responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Monitor, track, and report on monthly basis the Excavator product cost at component and arrangement product structure levels.
- Identify areas of opportunity in product cost reduction for all products using analysis and should-cost modeling methodologies.
- Develop project charters, launch and lead cost reduction projects using 6 Sigma methodologies to reduce product cost for Excavators, components, and sub-assemblies. Coordinate design and analysis efforts for all SCR cost reduction projects, including validation and implementation.
- Represent the Supply Chain Rationalization team on core cost reduction efforts and facilitate communications between the SCR team, GP, CCD and various EXD teams.
- Work with internal and external suppliers around the world
- Conduct make-buy studies and support worldwide source planning
Systems & Tools: Cost information system, purchasing databases, Team Center Enterprise, DCC and Caterpillar product releasing systems.
Processes: New Product Introduction, 6 Sigma and Caterpillar Accounting / Purchasing practices.
Cost Analysis: This person is responsible for assuring analysis follows established EXD Supply Chain Rationalization and Business Resources guidelines.

Qualifications:
The minimum requirements for this position include a Bachelor’s degree in technical area or equivalent,
At least 5 years of Caterpillar experience in Engineering, Supply Chain or Purchasing, 6 Sigma GB and project management experience.
Must have ability to communicate effectively with team members and others in the work group, as well employees in other units, and suppliers worldwide.
