Logistics and Supply Chain Supervisor – China Facility

Position Summary/Objective:
The Logistics and Supply Chain Coordinator is responsible for all logistics and supply chain activities that occur at the Muth China location. This includes purchasing, logistics, inventory management, and interfacing with Muth USA on customer order requirements. The objective of the position is to play a key role in the achievement of 100% on time customer deliveries, meet company established materials costs and shipping expense goals, and maintain accurate inventories. The Supply Chain Supervisor directly to the Muth General Manager- China facility but is accountable to the Muth USA CFO


Primary Duties/responsibilities:
1. Interface with the Muth USA team on customer orders and requirements, that are entered into Plex ERP system, to assure material procurement and production is planned accordingly to achieve on time delivery.
2. Manage the purchase of packaging supplies, factory supplies and repair parts by selecting vendors that can support our needs and ensure achievement of inventory control, inventory turns and cost savings targets.
3. Maintain, update, and ensure compliance with customer shipping requirements (detailed instructions describing the unique shipping process required for each customer delivery)
a. Arrange shipments of products to customers with the appropriate documentation so customs clearance is not delayed and customers have proper documentation needed to make timely payments.
b. Monitor inbound and outbound shipments and assist in resolving logistic issues.
c. Process ASNs and communicate shipping details to customers as needed.
4. Selection of Freight/Trucking companies - obtaining quotes and negotiating rates in order to operate within budget and meet shipping expense objectives. Obtain approval from management as required.
5. Manage the materials warehouse ensuring all raw material is properly documented in Plex reflecting accurate locations, maintain organized racks, ensure the warehouse layout is effective and efficient to support manufacturing, maintain a clean, safe and organized shipping and receiving area.
6. Coordinate with all international custom brokers to ensure proper paperwork is filed to clear inbound/outbound shipment for delivery in a timely manner.
7. Maintain training and work instructions according to TS requirements.
8. Interface with Muth USA team and suppliers for packaging design and approval.
9. Serve as liaison with internal and external customers to solve logistics issues. Assist in selecting proper transportation option for logistics needs and obtain approval from Management as required.
10. Manage/perform regularly scheduled cycle counts and 5S tasks.
11. Anticipate potential issues to ensure no disruption in supply chain.
a. Participate in corrective actions and/or continual improvement projects

Skills, Education, and/or Experience:
1. College degree with specialized training in the area of Supply Chain
2. A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
3. Proficient use of MSOffice software including Word and Excel
4. Experience with ERP systems
5. College or above diploma in finance/accounting; certified accountant preferred.
6. Good verbal and written communication skills
7. Versed in both English and Chinese with excellent written and verbal communications skills in both languages.
8. Mathematical skills; ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Able to perform metric conversions.
9. Ability to think through logistics and timing of events to complete successful, timely shipments.
