Senior Financial Specialist in Centre of Excellence

This role is based in our Xi'an office and part of the Centre of Excellence Team. ThoughtWorks is looking to hire a senior financial specialist to our Centre of Excellence. Responsibilities:

- Coordinate daily tasks of the team to serve internal and external clients.
- Create project codes in internal system
- Timely preparation of invoices for issuance to clients in accordance with client contact terms, and subsequent tracking through the approval process
- Timely monitors and processes client payments in PeopleSoft Financials
- Monitors the initial follow-up for overdue client payments
- Receives and answers inquiries from clients or other business departments in regard to invoices status
- Develop a strong relationship internally with Client Principals & Client Service Teams
- Accurately and timely receives and tracks vendor invoices in payables system
- Tracks vendor payments through the payment approval process
- Maintains vendor contact information
- Processes employee expenses reimbursement
- Reconciles monthly corporate credit card charges and travel statement
- Fixed asset management and accounting entry posting
- Process accruals, prepaids, payrolls journals and other month end journals
- Provide support as required as part of the global annual audit
- Responsible for monthly balance sheet reconciliations as part of the month end close process
- Driving special projects through to completion
- Prioritizes work of the team to meet continuous deadlines
- Performs other duties such as financial reports and other relevant services as requested.


Qualifications
- Bachelor degree or above required. Associates degree or office work experience preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in accounting area, with evidence of successful communication and mentoring with team members.
- Basic knowledge of financial and accounting transactions typical for a globally distributed company.
- Be able to communicate effectively (verbal and written skills)

- Must work well independently and with little oversight.
- Capable of receiving direct feedback from your manager or other team members.
- Willing to share experiences with your colleagues and express your ideas to them.
- Must be able to investigate, explain and follow up inquiries.
- Fast learner, highly organized and strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
