Job Description: BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Role Development of Ricardo business in the Chinese automotive industry.
Position within organisation
Report to: Assistance Vice President – Marketing & Business Development
Education: Likely to be degree educated in an engineering or related discipline. Business qualification desirable.
Experience: Essential

Experience of selling within the automotive industry, experience in engineering service a plus.

? Willing to travel frequently, be able to work under highly pressured circumstance
? Natural ability to develop business relationships with new clients / contacts and internal personnel
? Ability to identify new business opportunities, develop exploitation plans and lead the implementation
? Highly motivated and high level of resilience to cope with a rapidly changing business environment and demanding client requirements
? Proven track record in delivering order intake targets
? Well developed presentation skills allowing the individual to generate new business opportunities through targeted presentations to customers

IT skills: General computer skills, familiar with MS office.

Responsibilities:
New market, new products, new customer, new business opportunities, key account management.
? Explore the new market sectors & new customers to increase Ricardo scopes in China.
? Generating leads for all PGs from new customer
? Keeping close relationship with product group and Engineering teams, support developing sales plans/proposals
? Effective communication especially with the customer to support PG to win program

Qualities: Person with good business/commercial sense. Ability to work and communicate effectively with others of a different culture a must. Patient. Able to manage and prioritise own workload. Automotive background a major advantage. Flexible attitude to working hours. Willingness to travel within China on a regular basis. Approachable people motivator and natural ability to build business relationships with new contacts. Track record of winning new business. Strong supplier / service provider background, most likely via consultancy or tier 1 / 2. Tenacious yet pragmatic and patient.
