职位描述

The Regional EHS Manager, China & North Asia reporting into the Regional EHS Manager – Asia Pacific will enhance Grace’s growth and development by providing tactical functional expertise to Grace business locations within the assigned geography. This position continuously drives global excellence in core EHS management systems and processes and facilitates integration into Grace’s overall business operations for compliance, productivity and growth.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Initiate, design, develop, implement, maintain, and monitor existing and comprehensive EHS programs, procedures, policies, model programs that: a) assure compliance with current, emerging, and/or changing Federal, state, and local EHS regulations and b) support/align with Grace EHS Policies and EHS Management System. Develop and implement effective EHS risk and hazard management methods, designs, procedures, and programs.
  • Maintain technical and regulatory EHS expertise within Grace.
  • Ensure facility compliance with Federal, state, and local regulations. Assist Location’s administrative compliance efforts in the filing of required monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
  • Develop and deliver employee EHS training and training tools. Seek training programs for enhanced compliance and maximum training impact such as interactive internet based training.
  • Support the business in all aspects of business transactions (e.g. acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, etc). Supports due diligence activities. Supports EHS integration of new acquisitions.
  • Investigate environmental and work-related injuries/illnesses to identify causes and corrective/preventive actions. Track to closure all identified corrective and preventive actions.
  • Assist in planning for changes in physical facilities to meet EHS requirements.

Requirements:

  • At a minimum, Bachelors of Science or equivalent in Safety Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or other EHS related discipline
  • National Certified Safety Engineer and/or Certified Environmental Engineer required
  • Professional safety and/or environmental certifications are desirable (e.g. CSP, OHST, CHMM, CSSE, CHCM, and/or others).
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in the Chemical or Specialty Materials industry leading and managing compliance and EHS management systems.
  • Minimum of 5 years in manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work with Business Management and technical professionals.
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Experience in the planning, development, and implementation of EHS management systems and compliance programs.
  • Education and experience must clearly indicate the existence of specialized knowledge and successful track record in the design, implementation and monitoring of critical EHS programs including medical management, behavioral safety processes, facility auditing, emergency planning, incident investigation, employee safety committees, property conservation, hearing conservation, confined spaces, hazard communication, respiratory protection, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, electrical safety, lockout/tag out, driver safety, wastewater treatment, waste management and reporting, and general process chemical management.
  • Knowledge of regional Federal, provincial, state, and local EHS and transportation laws, regulations, rules and standards.
  • Experience in Acquistion and Integration and other Due Diligence Projects.
  • Experience with Workers Compensation (or equivalent) administration.
  • Ability to positively influence others in order to advance the best interests of Grace, internal EHS goals/targets, and EHS initiatives.
  • Excellent organizational and cross functional integration skills.
  • Self motivated; ability to make independent and informed, prioritized decisions.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills and the ability to work in both individual and team industrial work settings with minimum supervision.
  • Can accept travel up to 50%.
