Sr. Software Development Engineer

• Master Degree in Computer Science or equivalence
• In-depth knowledge of software, J2EE architecture, application server, open source projects, operating system, networking, and programming language theories and concepts highly recommended.

• Industry –
• 5+ years’ software development experience of complex and mission critical web portal and/or applications
• 3+ years J2EE development experience
• 2+_years database development experience
• Technologies – (3+ years with the following technologies)
• Object oriented software design
• J2EE architecture and design patterns
• J2EE technologies: EJB, MDB, JMX, JMS, Servlet, JSP, JSP Tag, Web Service
• J2EE application server: Websphere, Weblogic, JBoss
• Web presentation: DHTML, JavaScript, template engine, Ajax, JSF, Flex
• Database: Oracle, MySQL
• Application server clustering and failover
• Artificial Intelligence, Expert System, Rule Engine, and Workflow
• Other technologies: XML, UML, ESB, OSGi, SaaS, SOA
• Languages –
• Java/C# (3+ years)
• C/C++ a plus

• Development - Strong Java/C#. A senior developer will be capable of efficiently implementing a design on schedule with high quality. Work product will be maintainable and require little or no rework.
• Design – Experience with J2EE architecture, web portal and object oriented software design. Expected to exercise sound technical judgment and minimize risk as well as cost. Capable of investigating the possible impact new features and components will have on a large, diverse software system.
• Debugging – Strong debugging and problem solving skills. Capable of analyzing stack traces and system dumps to quickly triage an issue and devise a plan for resolution.
• Documentation – Must be able clearly and concisely define technical issues. A senior developer must be adept at completing concept, functional, and design specifications with an appropriate level of detail.

• Project Management – Able to plan, schedule, and drive feature development for a team of one to four software developers. Works independently and takes responsibility for carrying out the plan. Ensures the plan is completed on time by following up on action items, escalating risks, and developing contingency plans.
