A. JOB SCOPE:

Responsible for the sourcing, procurement and inventory management of raw materials, packaging and energy across all three businesses in the Asia Pacific region. Total annual spend of roughly $150MM. Define regional procurement strategies and targets to achieve cost and working capital objectives. Lead a group of procurement managers, commodity managers and buyers to execute the defined strategies and meet or surpass performance targets.

B. DUTIES:

• Support Grace's safety culture by demonstrating leadership as the Company works towards an accident-free environment.
• Promote Grace's vision of striving to be a premier specialty chemicals and materials company and demonstrate and integrate its core values into daily activities.
• Systematically gather and maintain industry and market intelligence relating to key direct materials.
• Develop value-accretive strategies for regionally purchased direct materials and support initiatives for globally sourced strategic materials which minimize the total cost of ownership to the company.
• Manage the execution of the aforesaid strategies and implement favorable supply agreements where appropriate which protect the company.
• Define and review sourcing plans for key subcategories, while working closely with global procurement managers to ensure the business alignment.
• Install, improve and manage processes (fully aligned with the corporate standards) to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of sourcing, procurement and inventory management
• Drive continuous, incremental change and where necessary, step-change improvement to achieve leading edge performance while delivering cost reduction and cash flow productivity and efficiency improvement within the region.
• Develop and manage effective relationships with key suppliers.
• Manage and develop the team throughout multiple countries in the region.
• Support global and regional communication by preparing reports, analyses and presentation materials and representing Direct Materials in business reviews, meetings and conference calls.
• Communciate sourcing strategies, plans and results to all relevant stakeholdersas needed and develop close working relationships and effective processes with S&OP, Logistics, Operations and R&D.
• Interface with regional business leads to ensure appropriate alignment consistent with business goals.
• Foster a team environment that develops strong business and professional relationships with key internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Motivate, encourage and coach direct reports and indirect staff to deliver maximum results and achieve functional excellence.
• Update monthly forecasts, reconcile variances and control departmental expenses.
• Support the development of the Annual Operating Plan and Strategic Plan and manage to meet or exceed expectations.

C. REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree (or above) in chemical or supply chain-related field. MBA and/or CPM/CPIM or similar certification preferred.
• Minimum 10 years work experience in a sourcing and procurement position in a world-class manufacturing company. Minimum 5 years people management experience.
• Strong teamwork orientation and excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Broad and extensive background in all aspects of supply chain management with the ability to think strategically.
• Dynamic, creative, and smart leader with unlimited energy and vision to drive positive change.
• Business savvy with strong internal and external negotiating skills. Must be able to critically review and negotiate supply contracts and possess a strong understanding of standard contract terms and terminology.
• Capable of managing and prioritizing multiple tasks.
• Positive “can do” attitude combined with customer orientation and focus.
• Analytical and data-driven approach to problem-solving.
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office® suite and SAP.
• Ability to travel a minimum of 25% of time.
• Good written and oral communication skills including both oral and written fluency in English.
• Ability to conduct all activities consistent with Grace's ethical standards.
