POSITION: GENERAL/FULL MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTS MANAGER

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES:
-University degree or Professional Accountancy qualification or Polytechnic Diploma in accountancy with experience of at least 2 years with a similar company or extensive experience of at least 5 years in a managerial position with a similar company
-A minimum of 5 years in Accounts Department
-Minimum age of 28 years old
-Leadership, controlling and communication skills for at least 5 years
-Excellent command of the English language

Responsibilities under Full Management:
-Preparing a time schedule for Full Management vessel reports for the Owners on coordination with the Commercial Manager and ensuring that this is followed in their group
-Timely processing of suppliers invoices and payments and following up debtors and creditors settlement
-Approval of payments and checking completeness and accuracy of daily bank reports
-Ensuring bank reconciliations are prepared for his/her group
-Liaising with the Technical Superintendent for the preparation of the vessel report to the Owners
-Handle year end audits & taxation matters with regards to the vessel accounts
-Executing special tasks in accordance with the direct instructions from Directors.
Responsibilities under General Accounts:-
- Organizing and controlling the Banks and Payment section;
- Coordinating and planning the timely preparation and approval of company’s payments;
-Maintaining suppliers’ records;
-Monitoring company’s bank balances and ensuring timely and accurately reconciliation of bank accounts;
-Providing timely and accurate reports on Banks, Debtors and Creditors;
-Controlling availability of funds and collectibles of Debtors;
-Handle year end audit and taxation matters for the company accounts
-Undertaking special tasks and projects that might be assigned by the Directors
For Payments group
-Timely preparation of the payments and debit/credit notes by the Payments group;
-Communication and correspondence to beneficiaries and banks;
-Maintenance of information for bank accounts and proper follow up of electronic banking systems.
Other than Payment group
-Timely completion and preparation of vessel statements in their group;
-Checking vessel statements, preparation of debit/credit notes and reconciliation of accounts for the vessels assigned to them;
-Preparation and posting of accounting journals and processing of crew payrolls;
-Following up any internal or external queries

Remark: this position is for our new joint venture company (Columbia Shipmanagement (Shanghai) Co., Ltd) recruiting. This is our company and Columbia Shipmanagement (Singapore) Pte. Ltd joint venture, established in stage at present.
